Jamaican-raised, Toronto-based MC King Cruff (Solomon Marley-Spence) was born with the talents of songwriting and performance in his blood. The Tuff Gong/Universal Music Canada-signed artist sees his songs as think pieces set to ‘punky’ rhythms. Drawing on his own audio engineering background, the versatile King Cruff fuses genres across the diaspora including hip-hop, Afrobeats, dancehall and reggae into his original ‘punky’ sound. An introspective storyteller, King Cruff explores the juxtapositions of human behaviour with energizing, innovative sounds that uplift and inspire for an ear-bending amalgam of Black musical styles.
Derrick - Opening act
Derrick is a DJ from the Québec scene. His love for music and open-mindedness led him to cofound two collectives: SocialClub Quebec (2019) and Hidden Gems (2021). Since then, he’s shared the stage with many local and international artists. Naturally curious, Derrick draws his inspiration from his everyday surroundings. A fan of Afrobeat, Dancehall, Soca, Shatta, Amapiano, and Baile Funk — no one stays seated during his DJ sets.
